Diverse Learning Environments

Acorn Room

This is the smallest of our rooms and is used primarily for the younger children. It is also used for any children that start with us that may need a little bit of extra security before they feel confident to move and explore the other areas within the nursery.

Activities and experiences are carefully planned, observed and evaluated and cover all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage.

All rooms are interlinked and open during the sessions, to encourage free flow and exploration when the children feel confident to do so.

Evergreen & Oak Rooms

These are the two larger rooms primarily used for the Pre-school children, however all rooms are inter-linked, offering the ‘free-flow’ learning experience to all children, when they feel confident to explore and investigate.

These rooms and areas are specifically designed to incorporate all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage and are predominantly led by the children’s interests. As in the Acorn Room, plans are written and the learning observed, which then results in evaluating and changing the areas if necessary.

Outside Classroom

This is a safe and enclosed area and is accessible at all times under adult supervision. Children are free to explore and experience outdoor activities using the EYFS curriculum as guidance, providing they have clothing suitable for the weather conditions. The activities are again, child led.
